  • Hua Hin Shopping
  • Where to Shop and What to Buy in Hua Hin Beach

Hua Hin and its surroundings have wonderful places to shop for virtually all of Thailand\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s traditional handicrafts. In addition, the town itself has become a centre for contemporary art with several small galleries featuring works by local artists. If you’re looking for a suit or dress, there are legions of tailors in hotels and other locations that will craft one to your specifications.

There are also numerous opportunities to purchase reasonably priced handbags, sunglasses, costume jewelry, prescription glasses, or ready-made clothing. As elsewhere in Thailand, bartering and haggling is the norm, and you will achieve the best prices by doing so with a friendly approach and a warm smile.

Although not considered as a shopping destination, shopping is always a fun component of the recipe for a perfect holiday, and you won’t be short on opportunities. A highlight of shopping in Hua Hin is that it is much more of a ‘local’ experience, with lots of small shops selling a wide variety of things, making a shopping excursion more of a ‘discovery’. Head over to the day and night markets for a great experience bartering on all kinds of things with the friendly locals.

    Hua Hin Market Village

This is the town’s first large-scale shopping centre and entertainment complex, signifying the area’s gradual transition from quaint fishing village to a world-class resort town. Brands include Jaspal and Adidas. Other reasons to head down here are the Multiplex Cinema and food hall. This is pretty much as good as it gets in Hua Hin when it comes to shopping. It is air conditioned and has a reasonable selection of fashion and name-brand goods spread over three floors.

    Hua Hin Night Market

One of the area’s premier attractions is the Night Bazaar that takes place every evening from 18:30 onwards. Although primarily thought of as a place to eat, Hua Hin\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Night Market and the adjoining Night Plaza (located in the centre of town adjacent to Dechanuchit Road, just west of Phetkasem Road) is always a great place to shop with the locals.

For local handicrafts, there are hundreds of items in the shops, from shells and wood carvings to dried fish. There is something for everyone here, including handicrafts, traditional Thai food and numerous vendors several selling seafood much cheaper than you would find it in a standard restaurant

    Pae Mai Market

This market is held on Tuesdays and can be found near the driving range at Royal Hua Hin Golf Club. Here you can watch locals shop for just about anything that can be transported to a once-a-week marketplace. The Grand Market

    Khao Takiab Shopping

Where to Shop and What to Buy in Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab is not a place you would necessarily come to shop. It has a handful of shops that mostly deal in handicrafts, art and beachwear. If you’re after more than this then it’s probably best that you take a trip to nearby Hua Hin.

At the forefront of Khoa Takiab’s shopping scene is the recently opened Cicada Market, an obvious reference to the number of insects that inhabit the area. Here we have restaurant, gallery and market brought together in one gallery style building. As with the rest of the province, market-style stalls selling handicrafts and intricately-made items can also be found.

    Cicada Market

This is definitely an exciting addition to the local shopping scene. With its art-inspired concept the Cicada Market is the first and only of its kind around here. All the goods on offer are art-related, mainly paintings, sculptures and a few handicrafts. On Saturdays the market takes place between 15:00-21:00 in a gorgeous garden setting.

Separated into four sections: Art a la Mode, Art Indoors, Art of Act and Art of Eating, Art a la mode occupies the majority of space and is dedicated to clothes, decorative items, home wear, and handmade accessories. Art Indoors is situated in the art gallery were the bulk of painting, sketches and sculpture can be found and bought.

The goods up here make for nice keepsakes of your time spent in Thailand and great gifts for others.
